Xmas Mini

I love Xmas - this year though was a real cracker so I made a mini with my fave xmas live this year - Crate Papers Snow Day Collection :)

I used a few little bibs and bobs from Sweet vintage, basic Grey, American Crafts - old and new lots of fun ...
Love adding texture to my Mini's not scared to make it a bit lumpy,bumpy and uneven -lol topped off with seriously cute pictures of my boys...

I used a chipboard shaped heart from another album (scrapware I believe) and used some spare heavy cardboard and dotted swiss cardstock - lots of red....

I was so proud of the boys having their Santa pic without me for the first time :D but not too shy to admit it also meant a little tear that my boys are growing up...far too quickly for my liking lol

Hope you like the end result as much as I did - don't do many mini's but always seemed chuffed with the finished product.

...not likely - even though the boys are at their Dads my body clock won't give in and let me sleep - so I got up and did this :D

I used a sketch from Red Earth Scrapping - love that Jay can now swing by himself and also loving the trims I used on this one they go beautifully with the Sass Indie girl range and the sweet vintage Doily is super gorgeous :)

These cards are actually made using some Martha Stewart wedding place cards - they are just over half the size of a normal envelope and come with a cute envelope to boot - I made about 30 odd using scraps,journalling tags, prima chipboard accents and some of my stash - nothing new on these babies but still cute all the same :)

I did this LO for the first part of a DT call at Red Earth Scrapping - you had to take inspiration from the sites header. I have used the versa mark tear drop inks to make a inked boarder under the photo and also the versa mark square pads to ink down the side on the page.

I love this pic of Jay and how he is replicating the little Meerkat at the back of the photo - he was so excited seeing all the animals at the zoo and loved these little guys :) he kept going they're so koot(cute) Mumma...

I did this LO below for Laurens product challenge at Little Scrapbook Shops Cybercrop this weekend - the challenge was to use chipboard, the words "a little ray of sunshine" and a picture of a new born.

This is a pic of Corey having his first hearing test - he was just about to come home from the hospital after 14 weeks in NICU - I like to document his journey and all the tests and things his gone through - doing it with a sense of humour occasionally is good for the soul also ;)

I so love this Crate Paper line for Christmas - is so suits the Aussie Christmas and the fun filled days of the silly season - especially with to super cheeky totally adorable munchkins.The one below is my fav Christmas pic of the boys this year - it melts my heart everytime I look at it :D

This LO below was done for the layout sketch challenge at LSBS from Anna - it started out looking like the sketch but ended up being a very loose version of the sketch indeed - i just kept adding bits and pieces but sometimes that's what happens lol

So as I said in the title I am on a bit of a roll this week with LO's have enjoyed having a little bit of time to sit and scrap :)

summer fun

I did this using the sketch from Stuck Sketches Jan sketch - I mixed it up a little but tried the stick to the sketch....

There is some old and new products on the one above but little tags available at the mo' esp the AC ones (like the sunshine one at the top) - they are too cute for words!

The layout above I used using colour combo 174 at color combos galore - not my usual colour scheme but the boys loved this Barbie Jeep of Lily's and it gave me a chance to use pink :) another for the 21st wall...

I {heart} Kraft

This is my entry for the Challenge over at Kraft it Up - you had to use Kraft as the base and have a summer feel or word in the title.

Sprinkler Love - how more summer can you get than that - I fully believe we need water restrictions but it was bucket loads of fun seeing the kids enjoy the sprinkler for the first time :)

This one was just because I love the pic of Jayden below....

I got a Sony cybershot for Chrissy ( very spoilt) and it has a smile detector which has meant I have been able to capture more Smiles - YIPPEEEE!!!!

And seriously who wouldn't want to wish more smiles and fun for the year ahead?

Wishing less rain for all those affected in QLD and happier days ahead.

Who doesn't love a cute teddy?

Well Corey just adores this Teddy - this teddy used to be Jaydens when Corey was about 2 and a half Jayden gave Corey his bear for the night -well he thought it was for the night lol

Teddy bear hasn't left Corey's side since - Jayden even reminds Corey every now and then that Teddy was his but it doesn't matter - Corey and Teddy are attached at the hip and I think they will stay that way for a long time to come:)

I did this sketch for the GDT sketch over at Sketchy Thursdays.

New Year,New Post

I just wanted to post a couple of layouts I have completed recently - one was for a challenge from LSBS and the other was just for fun - these are the first LO's I haved scrapped for about 5 months.

I have also made some cards from my scraps and also raised some money for a local cancer research charity in doing so.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and that 2011 brings fantastic memories for years to come.The boys and I had a fun filled Christmas - they both were super excited by the whole shebang this year so much so that Corey now cries when we drive past the house down the street cause they have taken Santa away...they are true believers in the magic of Christmas

and so am I....

Just blogging to say this will be my last post.... for a while - lots has been happening and well my scrapping time has dwindled and although I have not given up scrapping I have decided right now I need to concentrate on other things for a while....

I will be back when life gets a little less hectic personally :)

I also want to say a big thanks to Bree from Who's that Girl for giving me a shot on her design team and that I am sorry I can't continue on the team for now - I have really enjoyed doing all the challenges and seeing what the team comes up with - so thanks heaps Bree :)

I made both these sets of cards from one piece of Cardstock for each set - the ones above I used some Sass Journal stickers for the set and the Xmas ones below were made using some October Afternoon journal die cuts - quick and easy and only took a few minutes to add bits and pieces:)
I know it's been a while since my last post - my mojo has taken back seat - a few personal things have meant my mojo has decided to leave the building also.... I have made the boys invites for their birthday party - morning tea at a local park which also has a bike track :D but as usual I have sent all the invites and forgot to keep one for me lol

I can't believe Jayden will be 4 next month - the time has just flown by and he is turning into a little boy right before my eyes which makes me happy and sad all at the same time - he loves riding his bike at the moment and I can't wait til the weather warms up a little to have more days outside for him and Corey to have fun on their bikes:)

The one below is from his birthday last year and boy has he changed - has lost his baby squishy cheeks but definitely not the cheeky grin lol

I went away with the girls in feb and when I got home the boys had done some scrapping of their own - very sweet and definitely cute as:) who wouldn't want to scrap this.

Have had a lovely weekend we went to Sydney yesterday and I did a bit of retail therapy :D and today we went to the light rail at Albion Park which the boys loved and got a few happy snaps:)

Cherished memories

I was asked by Bree to complete a project for the August class at Scrapfreak(http://www.scrapfreak.com)with the prompt being items and the project being a pocket mini or LO, the focus was you had to tell the story (this was the most important part)....

So being given a prompt of items I went searching as a most things I hoard have
a lot of heartfelt meaning I didn't really know where to start but finally picked toys and cherished things from my childhood...

I used the Dear Lizzy fabric paper , old vintage book paper and BG Basics line for teh whole album adding some sweet vintage, Lil Red Rocket, Maya mist, October afternoon Thrift Shop stickers and a couple of otehr little touches to complete my mini...

I still have some toys and things from my childhood -some are at Mums and the boys place with them including my Cabbage Patch dolls and some are here and they play with them here I will be keeping them to hand onto my grandkids(hopefully)one day also - I think it's nice having things that connect you to your past

I made the tags using dotted swiss and misting them and repeated the tag and page design throught my mini so it all flows :)

I really loved doing this project and mini's are not usually my thing nor is sewing(although I would like to learn more) - I will show some more pages through the month :)

So what things do you remember from your childhood and have you scrapped them or do you still have them?

This is the latest challenge over at Who's that girl - we had to scrap about our dream job and well mine would be to roam the world and soak up all it has too offer and let everyone else in on the secrets - I wouldn't just do the five star resorts although they would be nice I would like to get to know the locals, their culture and where they like to hang out :)

So whats your dream job and do you already have it????

scrap cards

I know this is a bit of a photo overload but I made all of these cards in 2 hours today totally from scraps :) I have been keeping scraps of all shapes and sizes and they have come in handy - I basically cut a piece of A4 card stock in three - doodled a plain boarder around the edge and started sticking things down ....These cute badges make these cards double as a gift/card and I got them from a cheapy costume jewellery shop - how cute are they?

For these ones above I used some Sass whimsie flowers and added a few finishing touches

These are so cute for little boys and in the next month or so I know about five that are turning four so they will come in handy :)

I really love these BG felties but I have had them for a while and they don't scream for me to use them on a LO so I popped them on these cards and am happy as...

I made these using a MME die cut sheet tool a few seconds to add some brads, buttons and bling and viola cards in minutes....

Now to send them out and use them - I have a habit of making cards and they sit there looking pretty...maybe I might even go and try and sell them to a florist or handmade shop somewhere....So all in all I was so happy to have done almost 20 cards in 2 hours, will be doing this more often....

Some Corey Layouts...

I have had these pics since easter and they are so funny as was corey playing with all these hats - he didn't like the duck one too much and well the quack was more of a yuck lol but the Cosmo Cricket Journal piece went so well with these pics not much more was needed... Corey has been traipsing my Bert and Ernie all around the house since discovering them in his toy box in the last few weeks but he affectionately refers to them as Bernie - whether he is holding Bert or Ernie they are just Bernie to him...
This is a pic I took when Corey was in the NICU -as I was taking the pic he opened his eyes for the very first time and I just melted - yes there were tears and for once in my life even though you don't really want to be behind the camera taking the pic I was so glad I was to be able to capture this also....

So over the next few days I will do a Jayden post ( better keep things even wink wink)....

If you have more than one child do scrap evenly or just whatever grabs you at the time????

I did this sketch for the 7.22 sketch challenge at sketchy thursdays :) stumped me for a while converting it to this size but happy with it in the end - Jayden comes out with the funniest things and I wanted to record them...

I did this sort of in a similar style to paper piecing -
turned out pretty cute - love the bright colours at the moment -
this isn't what my house looks like but it would be the talk of the street if it was ;)

One very biased Mummy also - lol....Here's a few LO's I have done of the boys :)

Face painting has always freaked my 2 out so imagine my surprise when I went to pick them up from kindy a couple of weeks back and found this - too cute:)
Jayden is always saying the cutest things and he is trying with hie tense and spelling lately but he still says "how sounds that Mum?" instead of How does that sound?....

This one was using a tip from Kristine Werner's blog (www.kwernerdesign.com/blog/?p=3674)

she used ribbon scraps to make the sweetest card - I cut out an OA stencil of a little boy and backed it with PP :) Good reason to keep your die cut sheets once you have used the die cuts :)

shhh...I have a secret...

The challenge for Whos' that girl this week was to let everyone in on a secret or to journal something only those super close (say family and limited friends) would know....well at first it was a toughy for me because I am one who guards my personal info (you know the little big things that really matter) pretty close to my heart...but then is came to me and here it is.....

I have no more excuses about my weight, I am taking control and making a mid year resolution to be happier and healthier - I am doing this for me and with a close friend and I am determined I am going to stick with and lose the weight I hate and look in the mirror and dread....

I hid the journaling not because I didn't want to have it out there but because it didn't "fit" anywhere else lol and it all keeps in with the secret theme of the page....

I created this cute little embie cluster by painting a fabric flower then pressing it onto the page like a stamp, popped a sweet vintage doily on it and a brad and a little touch of cute if I do say so myself :)

So there you have it and since I have started Weight watchers on the 1st of July I have lost 2.5kg and enjoying it a lot :D So in the coming months you might see some changes in my photos a healthier, lighter, happier me.

I have been a little crazy with cards lately :) all of these were used once again from getting ideas from scrapfreaks daily inspiration thread :) and all of the flowers were handmade - the daisy one at second from the bottom is an Original handmade daisy from Sandie but the others I did myself :) The one above was made from fringed vintage book paper - a little cute and funky and was originally showcased on the Elle's studio bog as a banner project :)
This one was on the reminiscence blog and is basically 5 punched circles squishy fold to make a petal then staple together and add some sparkle or a button - easy peasy :)

This is a cut out of PP from OA thrift shop range and then a handmade daisy from Sandie stuck down with a dob of glue and some twine tied around it - so sweet.

these little beauties were originally poster by the Maya road team on there blog and aren't they just sweet as :)

I love adding something you have made yourself to a project and all of these were really simple and quick- hope you like them as much as I do :)

I completed this 12 x 12 for the Sketchy Thursday August GDT sketch - I loved the sketch - I did add a little ;) you had to have a handmade embellishment( the little material and doily flower) and also the colour yellow on your LO - something that lately I have no issue being able to use :)

I have been playing along at scrapfreaks summer freakout - and they had a bonus challenge where you had to use the daily inspiration forum section to inspire you to create - I love that through the net we can be inspired by so many other ideas - it's great.... For the one above I was inspired to use left over alphas - love how it turned out and it's something each of us has a problem with one too many left over z's and not enough vowels ;)

the one above was inspired by the Maya road DT using a die cut stencil from left over tags and glimmer mist to create a background and journaling area all in one - so easy and very effective form of masking :)

This one was done using a tutorial from AC by Liz Kratchner on how to make flowers - she used the Dear Lizzy fabric papers - I just used some material but it still looks super sweet...

Big Boy Bed

I did this LO for the Sketchy Thursday current sketch challenge (www.sketchythursdays.blogspot.com/), It's still hard to believe Corey is in a big bed as he could still easily fit in his cot....but little bubba's turn into little boys and he so loves his big boy room...even if he likes to wake with the sparrows....

I love the Cosmo Cricket DeLovely Range - initially I thought I wouldn't get much use from it but it is so versatile - I have done boy LO's,Girly ones and cards :D

sketchy yumminess

I did this for a challenge at scrapfreak - this is using the January sketch and I have twisted it up a little but love the result - I made these sweet kebabs with the boys they were such a huge hit as you can see by the smiles :D

It was so simple just some fruit and marshmallows and the boys even popped them

on the kebab sticks and swished them in the choc themselves -

they had a ball.

Think I found it not only from my gorgeous boys but in the Yellow in this LO :D after a few chilly days this has warmed me up - I completed this LO for the July GDT comp at Scrapfreak (www.scrapfreak.com) the criteria is use YELLOW as your main colour.

I made the sun using a yellow doily, fabric , a sweet vintage doily and by turning a ribbon into a rosette and sewing the butterfly on - pretty cute I think...

I love being a mother and love my boys is bucket loads but no one could ever prepare me for motherhood or the emotions you experience as a parent - it is all so worth it as the smiles, hugs and love you get back is priceless and definitely warms my "winter" days with sunshine :D

Imperfect

This is my first LO for Who's That Girl(WTG), the challenge set for this one was to scrap something imperfect about yourself - gee where to start....I chose the fact that sometimes life gets on top of me and I lose patience, I also know through discovering this and other little bits and pieces that it's ok to not be perfect...still something I am working on...

I love how versatile PP is and that making embies from it by adding bling saves cash :D and adds a little unique touch to your LO.

I love adding layers of different things on my LO's - chipboard, transparencies,doilies, ribbon...you name it I will use it lol I have used a paper doily on this LO just above the title and spritzed it with some maya mist to add a little more detail.

Elle's Studio and a cute card

I made this cute house card by tracing a maya road chipboard album as a template the mid section I just turned the house upside down and left the roof off.then just scored it on the edges and folded in three.I made this for a challenge over a the last LSBS cybercrop.

Tigers and Elephants :D

Mummy is so proud of you two gorgeous boys - today was your first dance concert and your were the cutest little Tiger and Elephant is the room :) although there were a few tears at first (from you two), some stage fright (which lead to an impromptu game if musical statues -even if no one else was playing) once your nerves settled you got your groove on:)

In the finale Corey you stole the show taking it upon yourself to go right to the front of the stage and flash your gorgeous smile,clap your hands,shake your bootie and everyone loved it - Mummy had tears of pride and was so happy you both had lots of fun :D It was a hoot!

Can't wait to scrap this one - Mwah Mumma xxx

I made the following OTP using a small shadow box photo frame adding a few little touches - old book page I found for 50cents at the local markets,prima packaging and some gorgeous products from prima,Elle's studio, October Afternoon and American Crafts :) I just love the prima packaging as much as I love their products :) and it suited the saying so much -too cute...
Adding a few cute butterfly punches from scrap paper....

...the end result a cute littl OTP topped off by inking the frames edges :)

Now should I keep it for myself or let someone else enjoy it???

and they all sang Happy Birthday(love play school songs)...well I am officially another year older and have been spoilt by my boys, folks, sister, Nephew and friends - one lucky gal.

I got a lovely knitted jumper from the boys (hand picked by yours truly), a bottle of my fav perfume from the boys and my parents, my sister made me a lovely card and my friend Ally dropped by with the cutest package (scrap goodies,funky necklace and the cutest apron -love baking and this one is super cute) not to mention I spoilt myself and caved a got a pandora bracelet...

I also got some scrapping in - the LO is not finished so I thought in keeping with the birthday theme I will show you some number cards I made for the LSBS CC last weekend....really happy with this lot especially considering cards are not usually my thing - getting better at them though :)

Teachers Pet ;)

You would have to agree if you were a teacher and received one of the following gifts you would have a new teachers pet - lol

I made the following mini album using 5 Journaling tags from Elle's Studio - love there stuff it's lush and these Journaling tags come in bright,sweets,boys and gals colours and therefore it would be easy to recreate this cute little mini for anyone or any theme :) this one was actually made for my friend who is having twins and she has a little gal already, it's small enough (4x4)for her to keep in her bag and has room for individual pics of the bub's and also a family pic :)

It's easy peasy to make simply cut a 12x12 piece of cardstock 4inches wide and then score at 4 and 8 inches across so you have three panels.

Then choose your journal tag and cut out centre panel(the bit you would normally write on), then use DST to adhere this to a transparency sheet to form your photo "window", make sure you place your DST flush with the edge of the journaling tag edge, I backed mine with dotted swiss bazill and then adhered this to the centre of each of each of the marked panels.

I then stuck some cute word stickers on the top of each frame, folded in the panels and wrapped a ribbon around the outside so it can stay tied together - I stuck another journal tag on the front and tied some string and a button for decoration, added more word stickers and there you have it. A cute as mini album which makes a perfect present for someone having a bub, a brag book for a new grandma or a gift for your little ones teacher at the end of the year:)

Whilst I was on a role I started making these for my boys child care teachers for the end of the year.... once again I basically did the same as above but this time cut the panels and added my own flowers - the one on the right I made from fabric and cardstock as well as some prima packaging :)

Cut out the centre of your journal tag, adhere to transperancy ,mat on some cardstock and then the final step to transform it into a cute little gift is adding a funky little embellishment or some word stickers etc and magnet to the back and you have a cute little fridge magnet.

You could easily change it up a bit with different colours and embies especially if there are some male teachers, didn't take too long to make once I had all my supplies ready and they are super cute....

I am going to have a giveaway.... recreate and make your own journal tag fridge frame and I will pick one winner at random for a cute RAK including a pack of Elle's Studio Journal tags - who wants to join in the fun??? I will leave it open til the end of the month and draw a winner at random just link back here so I can check out your creations.

I have been busy scrappin up a storm over at the Little Scrapbook Shop's June Cybercrop - It's all about numbers and I have completed all the challenges :) best of all I have used up some numbers and this is something I don't usually do well. Head on over to check out the challenges you have until midnight Monday to get your entries in...

This Lo had to have details about the year you were born - I have already done a similar one for me so I did the boys :) for this one....

This one was set by Tara and you had to use your favourite number as inspiration - my lucky number is 7 and I don't really know why -it just is :0 - maybe it's because it's odd lol

sugary sweet :)

Well the munchkins and myself have had the lurgy of late and being couped up inside with the rain what is better than having fun when you're not feeling one hundred percent so I called on my childhood memories and a magazine recipe I saw the day before ;) and decided to make octopus biscuits and smiley faces with the boys :) Ok so maybe not a great idea to load the kiddies up on sugar when they can't go outside but they loved it so much and apart from that, they mixed the icing, laughed, pulled some funny faces and overall had a blast and it was easy as a few snakes, a few smarties, jelly beans, banana lollies, plain biscuits(or bibi's as Corey calls them) and some icing and off you go....

These cards are for some cute little ladies who are having birthdays in the coming weeks - I cheat a little sometimes - I buy cheap packs of five cards from Big W (they have cute sayings and if I don't get a chance to cover them I have a cute card in the house) and then cover them with a mini LO...

It works for me and plus I don't have a scorer - honestly I think I am the most tool deprived scrapper around but it's not a huge problem as I seem to get by just fine :)

I have used some super cute products including Elle's studio Journal tags and cardstock(who buy the way have now got a stack of digi stuff you can buy and then print yourself - great thing is you have an endless supply of tags in your puter - for a journalling junkie like moi it's heaven!),Bella Bvd, Cosmo cricket ribbon BG and MM alpla's and AC thickers - some old stash some new and voila cute cutes in minutes :)

Security blanket???

OMG I am having serious withdrawls from the dummy -

it's not funny I took the dummy off Corey the weekend after Easter -

he then got sick the next week so I caved and gave it back (he was seriously distressed)

he only ever had it for his day and night sleep initially but then when I gave it back he wanted it all day everyday, then I accidentally forgot to take it to kindy for him and he didn't muck up so I thought if you don't need it there well you wont need it here - whats that famous quote from Pretty Woman "Big Mistake - HUGE" well ever since it has been a battle of the wills - I know where he gets his stubborn determined streak from that's for sure....but seriously he has turned into a tantrum throwing crazy kid and I think I need the dummy just to get through - hence the LO Your security blanket or mine???

I am determined it's gone for good so wish me luck for no more caving....

I have to say it is also slowly weening me of my little baby as the only hint of a baby left in

our house is nappies and wipes :'(

feeling a little arty

I know I have posted this one before but I am going to start an Art journal and thought it was an appropriate pic to go with my post - do any of you keep and art journal? where did you start? What do you include - I loved doing Art at school I did 3 unit for the HSC and still have my projects so am looking forward to escaping again.

On this project I have used American crafts thickers, American Crafts ribbon, Mesh, paint, felt, handmade transparency, tim holtz journal ticket, Elle's studio Journal card,Heidi grace paper,Prima canvas tag, making memories mini alpha's, thread and buttons.

So wish me luck as I go forth and get my hands dirty :)

shout out for a fantastic cause

OK gals so this one is very close to my heart - as most of you know Corey was born 15weeks premmie and what some may not know is that I spent the first 14 weeks of his life sitting beside him in the NICU(Neonatal Intensive Care Unit)watching him grow and journalling his and my day in these books above - the scrapper inside got the better of me so I prettied up the front a bit and the insides as well but the main and most important thing is it was totally theraputic as well as I know have a recolection of that time and so will Corey - the nurses have written him messages inside, his little nicu buddies(or their Mummy's) have as well and I have also got photos and a few otehr bits and pieces going on in there :)

Well another Mum who has been through a similar experience (although a much sadder time :( after losing her precious daughter) and then having beautiful twins and spending time in NICU has set up a site on facebook and is making the journals a little prettier and then donating them to the hospitals in NSW. Thought I would share a Summery Lo today since its so cold here in the Gong....winter really is settling in and the rain looks like its going no where in a hurry...
This pic was taken on Australia Day at the foreshore in Wollongong - the boys had so much fun looking at all the rides and playing around - I mixed it up with a few vintage finds and a bit of Sass and Scenic route.
The blue ink above the pic is just done by rubbing your ink pad across the dotted swiss bazill ever so slightly - love the look....

Titles

Don't you just love that inspiration for titles can come from anywhere - the kids watch the Backyardigan's (kid's cartoon) and I thought the title matched perfectly with this LO - since the boys escaped to the backyard for some fun just like the little characters in the cartoon - a fairly simple LO a bit of twine, a few Hambly stickers, some K and Co crochet lace and a button - it's the gorgeous Prima PP that helps with the whimsy/cartoon feel as well...

So how do you come up with your titles and is it something you struggle with????

My habit of sticking my tonge out ever so slightly when concentrating - I have been hassled my whole life about it and try as I might to not do it....well it just doesn't not happen. I have to say I have given it to my eldest son and found it fun to scrap this quirky family trait....

Both boys loving their "crafting" as Jayden calls it -

stickers,glue,paints,collage,stamping - you name it they love it!

I made the book below by covering a notebook I got from Woolies with fabric(down the spine),some gorgeous Basic Grey( Basics and Nook and Pantry), crocheted lace,journal tag,stickers and a prima flower - stick it all together with glue,DST and masking tape - took about an hour all up - very spesh:) I made this book for my Mum and used the same principal as a Journal Jar - gave her a whole wad of questions about life and asked her to write down the answers in this book - WHY??? Cause I am a nosey gal at heart and love stories and I want to know what,how and why my Mum feels about life and some little things I probably wouldn't or don't think I have asked her.

Also to record the stories of her life and my main reason is Mum's memory isn't the best ( I know she is getting older as we all are but seriously her short term memory has taken a huge beating over the last few years)and I think it will help her thinking about her answers and having them down on paper - her long term memory is quite good so the selection of questions is varied...to tell you the truth I can't wait to read what she writes and I will also have a copy of her words in her writing :) She doesn't scrap but I don't want to miss out on the stories...

It's the reason I scrap to record stories that one day when I am sitting in my rocking chair watching the sun set from my verandah in the country(this is yet to happen but a girl can dream).

I can look through my albums and reminisce - I love knowing they(the stories) wont be forgot and that I will have such a blast looking back at the path I would have walked along with that of my gorgeous family :) (bit biased but hey aren't we all)...anyway enough rambling from me...I also did this for Tracy's challenge for the LSBS cybercrop this weekend- head on over and check the crop out...

Love the Colours of Autum

Nothing better in a lovely sunny autumn day than taking the boys out in the fresh air and enjoying the morning together at the Wollongong Botanic Gardens...

...the colours are spectacular and the boys just love the fresh air and exploring all the paths and everything the gardens have to offer.
So this memory was scrapped for my May entry for WIOIN year in review challenge.

Ok so I have switched to doing 8.5x11 or usually A4 layouts -

its quicker and easier for me and cost effective

when buying albums - Big W has coloured albums for a few bucks :D

Anyway it often means I get 2 pages or a page

and some cards using a 12x12 piece of PP - double yay again :)

Here are 2 LO's I did which have a totally different vibe using similar colours and papers :)

I also saved some bucks by using the cardstock that came free when I got some PP recently - it's not Kraft the colour is more brownish/orange and

I love it now just to buy some more PP to get some more - lol

The LO above is another about Moi and the quote is just right for me right now....the one below is a scraplift from a recent challenge in SBM - love the colours in both

I also used mainly scraps in both these and since going to the smaller size LO it has meant more scraps are being used - woohoo

Mad Hatters

As it's Mother's Day tomorrow I thought

I would share a LO of my munchkins and I mucking around -

as a mother there are a lot of times when being a parent tests you

as mucking around isn't always high on the agenda

but they are by far outweighed by the joy of

your little ones squeals of laughter and delight and all the happy times they bring you...

this week Jay has been busting at the seems to give me my parcels

they made at kindy that he has had hidden in his room

(one is on top of his toy shelves and the other is under his his bed on the trundel -

he proudly took me and showed me them nicely "hidden" so I wouldn't spot them - lol)

and has burst into tears a few times this week after

being told it's not sunday yet and then stating

but Mumma I really want to give you the parcels - so cute I could eat him...

So I can't wait to see his smile tomorrow morning when I tell him it's sunday:)

It will be such a lovely moment and my smile will be as big as his as it's those little moments that is what being a Mum is all about.

bed buds and butterflies

Just recently Corey has become very attached to some new friends :) Upsy Daisy, Froggie and Teddy Bear(who missed out on this photo op - don't worry I am sure there will be more) until about a month ago his bed was toy free but one any given night now I will be not only hugging and kissing my littlest munchkin goodnihgt but any number of his teddies also - too cute.

In this pic Jay was actually lughing(although it doesn't look like it)...I got these butterfly clips to use on a scrapbook LO (which I ended up using them on a card lol) but before I could use them I Jay took them and wanted me to put them in his hair-we were both in fits of laughter and of course i couldn't resist grabbing the camera and taking a pic - he makes such a pretty fun boy don't you think?

I love these LO's cause they mix it up a bit with new and old products and different companies - something I love to do with most of my LO's.

the first layout is of my Best Friend Kath and her cutie pie Abbey from her Fifth birthday party - Mum and I took the boys on a road trip to Cowra ( almost 4 hours) and they loved it :)

I was so inspired by Belle's challenge I also did a LO each for the boys....the challenge - was to do a LO about your name and use 3 flowers(which could be incorperated in the PP also) My LO followed the criteria but the boys were not for the challenge so it was anything goes - hope you like them and so sorry I took so long to post:)

Chicken soup for the soul??? Remember when you where little and your Grandma made you chicken soup when you where sick??? Well my Mum used to always give us vegimite soldiers - partly because she knew we had to be sick to eat it (not big vegimite fans back then lol) and because it was her form of "chicken" soup...hope that makes sense so I thought I would capture it as these days I don't mind Vegimite but it is still my go to food when I am not well....

This next LO is for The Year in Review challenge at WIOIN - documenting my weekend of bliss at Kangaroo Valley with the girls, laughs and a girls best friend (well the next closest to bling) Bubbles - Hey they both start with the same letter - lol....

This is my use of mixed alphas and Kraft for teh Kraft it Up challenge this month - Jaydens first day back at swimming - such a cutie patootie :)

Retreat Layouts

On my weekend away I didn't use thickers, bling or pearls - I think I chanelled my whimsy side and my use the old stash up side and I enjoyed every minute - I don't have a room full of stuff to use but like most scrappers have more than enough and I am glad to say that my patterned paper is a little lighter for it ;)

The one above has the most appropriate quote for me right now and I am really happy with the whole feel of this one:)

This is Jay all over - he loves analysing stuff and trying to work things out he also loves Yo Gabba Gabba - I got the little plex button from Kitty Robot and knew it would find a home :)

My wild Child - every family has one right - I love his spunk even though at times it drives me crazy - he is too darn cute and just the cheekiest chicken little to be able to pull it off !

Weekend Away

I have just been on the most fabulous weekend away with 8 gorgeous gals who scrapped, chatted,enjoyed each others company and no kidlets running around at Kangaroo Valley.

I love my chicken littles so much there are days when it hurts but it was seriously theraputic to have four days of me,the gals,patterned paper and bubbles - be still my beating heart :)

I got 12 Lo's done including one of Cass's little cutie Annabelle - Can't share cause didn't take a pic but maybe Cass can pop it on her blog.I don't get to scrap little girls much so had a bit of fun with that one:)

Will post some pics over the next week.Back to real life after being in heaven for a few days and the washing is done now I need to go to bed so I will be able to half function at work tomorrow.

It was so lovely to come home for some Mummy cuddles and happy faces from my little chickens though - nice to know we are missed :)

A little bit quirky?

Another one for Dollies - this is another sketch challenge and another no pic LO for me.... I am liking getting some stuff about me down on paper for the boys to know all about me in years to come - they will probably just rolls there eyes and say big deal but hopefully it will mean something for them to know the real me.

This one is a combined challenge - I did the colour and elements challenge all in one over at Dollies - it was the colour combo of Lavender, grey and ivory and the elements was to do a LO about a woman in your life who you admire - who better than my Mum - she is the world to me and even though we can get on each other's nerves at times I love her to bits and always will :)
these are not colour's I would normally use so I am happy with the result:)

I don't have many pics from those early days - they are all on slides and even though some have been saved others have been damaged :(

I just love these little pics from Cosmo Cricket journalling PP in the nutmeg and earth love ranges:) so adorable...

This is another page for Design Dollies Feb colour challenge -

this time it was green,Ivory and Kraft -

I know I am a little off with some of them but I am still happy with the end result :)

I like these two LO's together as the second is recording what I think will be some of my boys fav childhood memories :)

Now as for my found items RAK - the 2 found things are....

the pink tag - the little square tickets were placed on top of the words sleepwear so the word allsorts is still part of the pink tag -some thought this was the second item....

the second item was actually the black ribbon with the words allsorts on it - they were both from a PJ top I got recently and fit perfectly with the LO - so although no one guessed correctly I am still going to send a RAK to Shelee for having a go :)

Littlescrapbook shop has there Feb cybercrop on this weekend all the action starts about 730....it's all about LOVE :)

Toys - What toys did you grow up playing with

( I wasn't a Barbie girl but I did have a Poochie Dog, lots of Garfield, Mr Men - little miss was slowly coming round) and seaseme street was a big fav from way back -

I collected all these tags from clothes I have either been given or purchased for the boys and from a toothbrush pack - lol

I love that even though I have two boys some of their current fav's were mine as well :)

So apart from the little black and white words(Sam and Lucy) and the SEI alpha's this LO was made from "found" items...

think I did ok I have never used this combo before and love how it turned out.

My Mum and Dad have been together 36 years and they have cared and supported each other and their family through a lot - they have their own sort of love, he calls her snappy tom and I can't say what she calls him but deep down I know they are there for each other - so it may not be all smoochy and lovey dovey but it's love and it's their way and that's all that matters:)

I love using items in my scrapping that are not traditionally or purposely made for scrapping - even better if the are recycled and a bigger bonus if you don't have to pay for them :)
It adds a bit of originality to the mix and that has to be a good thing!

Here is another page for the 52 weeks of me over at Scrapbook Savvy.
Just love a night out with the gals and last weekend the Mum's from playgroup hit Amigos for a night of awesome food,lots of laughs,wine and chat....
...gives me the opportunity to glam it up a little every now and then:)

There is more bling and glitz on this page than you will ever see on me, was a bit heavy handed with the mists - I have used Glimmermist and Maya Road mist for the page -lots of fun :)

Wow - back at RPA for Corey's 2yr old development check - boy does time fly....Well he blitzed the playing - fine motor and gross motor skills - woohoo.

His speech is delayed but we have put steps in place including getting a referral to a speech therapist and we will attack it as it comes...I was prepared for this and had already started looking into a referral but it's nice to have the support of the hospital and to see some old faces - even though Corey has no idea how important these people are in him being here, I do and it's nice to go back and catch up :)

So sweetie Mumma is so proud of you - you are doing amazingly well and don't sweat the speech thing ;) you have come so far and we will work on it together - Mwah Mumma xxx

Dream in Colour

I just found Cheryl Manz Blog with the title above and I love her blog,work and way with colour:) I thought I would do her latest challenge - so hear is my LO.

Jayden gave me a bottle of soft as soap(handwash) for Christmas - it was the best gift I was given and maybe one of the best of all time - I know most would say it's soap Mel but it was the thought behind it and that he is 3 that means so much - that even though some days(like most Mum's) I feel like I could do so much better -I am obviously on the right track:)

Anyone for Chocolate???

Ok two post almost immediately after each other but both deserved there own special spot.

A couple of weeks ago I went out with some of the gals from work and for dessert we went to "My Chocolate Shoppe" at Kiama....think it will shortly give the blow hole a run for it's money on the tourist draw card (just my own little chocoholic opinion) but seriously if your in the area and looooooooooooooooooove chocolate it's a must do.

Not for the faint hearted though:)

And I can predict it wont be the last time you go there - nor will it be mine - LOL

Anyway hope I haven't caused drooling on your keyboard:)

Off to enter this one in the Kraftit Up challenge for this month.

The Seasoned Scrapper

Little scrapbook shop is hosting "The Seasoned Scrapper" a year long challenge with a new challenge weekly running to the NSW school terms - head on over the the forum to check it out :)

I'm reconnected - Yipppeee!!!!!!

I have started doing the 52 weeks of me over at Savvy and although I am a little behind I am trying to catch up and have decided to do my pages so the boys will be able to pick it up later and say that's who my Mum was/is....

I am going to include things like pet peeves,likes,fears,jobs I have had, childhood memories etc

Got any other ideas - leave me some and I will pick a person at random on friday to send out a little RAK.

Here's what I have come up with so far....2 pages no photos - not going to be like that all year but I think I am going to mix it up a bit!Leave some love and let me know what you think - better still why not try a page without pictures for yourself and leave me a link - would love to see what you come up with...Melxx

Here is another Chrissy LO I have just done - My Christmas Wish....

This started out being a LO for the CC over at LSBS this weekend but I got off track - it was Belle's challenge to use three "found " things so I used a tag(behind the title), a bit of packaging from a chipboard thingy I had ( the photo corner on the top left) and the gold ticket on to the right of the pic which was from the Myer store display from the year Corey was born - while Corey was at RPA Mum, Dad and I took Jayden to the Christmas display for some time out and he loved it they had little train rides and all so the lady gave him a ticket and My Mum asked for one for Corey as he was in hospital....a little nostalgic just like Christmas:)

Cristmas trees - giveaway

My boys loved decorating the tree this year-so much so they would rearrange it daily lol so to scrap this special memory I decided to make my "own" tree - here is how I did it :)

I used a cheap diecut tree I got from Kmart last year, I put it on top of the c/stock inked around the edges and then traced with a felt pen - then I cut a piece of PP for the bucket and used ribbon, felt and brads to decorate :)

So simple and easy peasy so have you scrapped anything from Christmas yet??? If so leave me a link by Friday next week and I will pick out at random a lucky prize and pop it in the post.

I can't believe I missed blogging Xmas and the New year - hope every got on Santa's noice list and had a totally awesome kick off to the New Year!

I can't believe it's 10 years since 2000 - amazing and so much has happened....

Anywhoo - this year for me is about focusing on being a better me...getting healthier, enjoying life more, cherishing those around me and exploring what may be.... no resolutions so won't be scrapping them as I never stick to them but if I aim to focus on the above I am sure I will become a better Moi!

I ahve been up to a little scrapping so will share - I finished all 52 pick up challenges over at LSBS and so proud I finished - a bit of a rush to the finish line so here is the last few things I made. A huge Congrats to Debij who won the prize and to all the gals who completed all challenges and those who had a go!

This was a chaleenge from Helen J to make a note holder- simple and quick but totally gorgoues!

This was the last challenge from Belle - you had to use at least 14 ribbons and staples - yep they are all there :) The gorgeous Janine Kay took this pic - all thoguh it's not all smiles it's my boys at the moment and I love it:)
This was a challenge from Tracey to use a templete to make your own embellishment - I used a flkower template frrom the web...another lovely pic of my oldies from Janine:)
This was the last challenge from Belle all about ditressing and I totally was distressed ripping one of Corey's painting up but how cool does it look:) this is is taken by Cariisa Little from Bella Piccolo photography.

Tracy set a mixed media challenge and I did this little heart - will be going postal to a friend shortly :) the heart was made by another scrapper froma vintage swap I did on wicked prioncess site - I don't know who did it but it's perfect - Mwah :)

Zapped!

I have been zapped of my scrapping mojo- a lot going on personally which has been draining and hopefully with a new year soonish things will be turning around :)

I have still been quietly scrapping away and here is a few LO's to share :)

This was my last LO for project fashionista and even though I didn't win I am happy with all I got done:)

This place truly is heaven on earth - it's Melross at Kangaroo Valley NSW - google it and drool all over your keyboard - 10 of us are heading back there in Feb and i wish it was tomorrow - Can't wait!
I did this LO for November blind scrap over at LSBS - the next one will be on the 7th of December -drop by and join in the fun it starts at 8pm :) it also is my pick up 52 challenge 43 - hidden journalling - it's in the envelope - just alittle on my thoughts about the last year and moving forward....the inspiration came from Kobi Yamada and the "She" quotes - I used She went out on a lime, it broke of sehind and she started to fly".... Sums up the last year very well for me.
this one is a challenge Belle set for pick up 52 to use Cardboard in your background and pics from teh past - these pics were taken when Corey 1st finger painted at kindy- over a year ago - the pics are priceless :)
This one was for the LSBS November CC - I love this little bag Deeane threw our way and will be making more for the boys kindy teachers:) the little charm is an earring bead from spotlight.
Another challenge from the CC was to make a Calendar using scraps - I used Elle's Studio 2010 Calendars and lots of odd scraps - love this and it rady to go for my scrap desk:)Thanks Tara:)
ok so a little overload - these had been done over a month...I really have slowed on the amount I had been doing - if you find my mojo return it to me ASAP - pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease :)

I am a finalist

I am so not a fashionista at any point in my life so it is completely ironic that I made the finals of Project Fashionista over at Wicked Pricncesses.Huge thanksto everyone who voted my in :)

Here was my week 5 entry - you were only allowed to use green,pink and yellow, had to include satin also :)Minimal amounts of white and black could be used...

So for the final I have to showcase 3 pieces - an all white(or shades of white - cream and ivory allowed) LO - no other colour allowed bot even to journal - OMG this was hard especially for a gal who loves colour!!!But I have done it :)

A LO showcasing your style and journalling about yours truly :) which I have also done

And a sketch to follow - which I am still working on - all entries due this friday.Anyone can vote who has posted more that 10 posts on the forum.....will pop back later in the week to upload the sketch :) thanks to anyone who has dropped by

I hosted the blind scrap at LSBS this week were we made some home made flowers for our LO and journal tags also:)

A big congrats to Kayla Renee and Sara for getting the two DT spots at Savvy - great work during the comp and I am sure you will keep us all inspired from here on out....

I have completed week 4 for Project fashionista at Wicked Princessess - the theme is shabby chic l so you had to include muted colours, lace and pearls...a bit of a challenge as i don't usually scrap muted colours or girly girly so here goes....

I also entered a couple of the challenges at enchanted scrapbooking for there 6 month birthday CC....

I have completed my last LO for the DT comp over at Scrapbook savvy - you had to use the banner from the site as inspiration,make your own flower, use the quote"she was an artist and her life was her canvas" and it had to be about You :)

I have really enjoyed doing all the challenges for this comp and Thanks Sar for the opportunity to try out - now to wait and see....

I have completed the round 3 challenge for Projct fashionista over at Wicked Princesses - it was a tough one this one - Men's fashion,avent garde, metal, mesh, black - with two little boys it took me a while to get my butt into gear but I love what I have done....

I know I have used the mesh for both the above LO's but I love how they both have a completely different feel - that's what art and scrapping is all about :)

I also did this LO using one of Jay's artworks as no PP was allowed for the studio.scrapbook 101 here's the link .....

I also did this mini using envelopes for the challenge at scrapbook 101 - you had to do a summer themed project, it had to have a title longer than 4 words and it wasn't allowed to be a 12x12 square LO - odd shapes....

Well Savvy's cybercrop was on on the weekend and I managed to get Emma and Mel's challenges complete and do the blind scrap with Sar ( can't load that one yet) so her is my efforts so far...

I have had a big week playing with new papers, embies and the like and lot's to share:)

First up - Round One, Part One for the Savvy DT call

Sar asked us to create a challenge - so here's mine....I asked the gals to create a LO using only PP they have made and the subject was to be about something they love but not a person or animal...

Round One, Part Two

We got given one of the other gals challenges - I go Jo Caird's - her challenge was to create a Mono using at least 5 colours from the spectrum of that chosen colour and follow her sketch - Here's my take - Jo I hope you like it :)

Next Cab off the rank - Over at Wicked Princesses I have signed up for Project Fashionista...the first challenge was to use 3 different suppliers PP and you had to chose to acessorise with only two other things from a chosen list - I chose Bling and mesh....

LSBS retreat AKA Mummy Time

Warning - long post ahead :)

Well I am back from a weekend of creating and chat with an amazing bunch of gals from the LSBS forum - I was a little nervous and felt a little lost without the kids but had a great time all the same, caught up with new friends and old and stayed up way to late - one tired mummy on the drive home and still trying to catch up now....

There was a stack of giveaways and lots of challenges, classes and great fun:)

I will say I haven't laughed so much in a long time and some of the antics that happened over the weekend will be etched into my brain for a long time - I will never look at aq block of Cadbury's choclate the same way for a long time - thanks Helen:) Belle's Ball was hilarious and I got quite a bit of creating done amongst the chat. Hoepfully I can make it next year...

So much awesome talent and the classes were great - here's some what I got up to on my own accord....

Here's a sneeky peak at some of what I created with Belle's awesome class....Belle I would never had done this without your class for that I am truely grateful :)

All up I created 13 LO's(including the three challenges and one for Carol of her gorgeous children), 4 card's card including the fab one from Helen's class, Belle's class mini album and Lisa's mini album - totally stocked!!!!

All in all a great weekend Thanks Cath, Nic, all the DT and Lisa, Helen and Belle and all the amazing gals who went :)

Introducing Jasmine...this is Ally's precious little bub - she is such a gem and so darn cute - I scrapped her Thank you photo for the pick up 52 challenge number 30 - create a whimsical LO....not my usual thing but I gave it my best shot.
